Role overview

The Business Systems Analyst translates business objectives, governance obligations, and user needs into clear, testable requirements.

The role coordinates delivery teams from requirements through release; deep product expertise is not required, and product knowledge is developed on the job.

Requirements and delivery

  • Lead discovery, requirements elicitation, and process analysis with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Write functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and testable acceptance criteria.
  • Document current- and target-state processes, business rules, data needs, controls, and dependencies, and maintain traceability to delivered capabilities.
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog and support refinement, sprint planning, testing, and release readiness.
  • Coordinate meetings, actions, and decision tracking; report status, risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions.
  • Partner across product, development, quality engineering, architecture, security, risk, and operations.
  • Support governance and audit documentation, validate delivery against outcomes, and prepare stakeholder and implementation materials.

Required qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Business Systems Analyst, business analyst, or similar role on technology delivery projects.
  • Strong requirements elicitation and writing skills, including functional and non-functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to coordinate stakeholders, maintain a backlog, and follow through on actions and decisions.
  • Working knowledge of engineering and architecture concepts, including examples such as integrations, data flows, APIs, cloud services, and software development lifecycle.
  • Experience in Agile or iterative delivery environments.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred experience

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot, Power Platform, Power BI, AI agents, or automation is a plus, not a requirement.
  • Experience in Canadian banking or regulated financial services, including governance, controls, audit evidence, or model-risk documentation, is preferred.

Location and work arrangement

  • The stated role location is hybrid in Toronto, Ontario.

Compensation

  • The stated compensation range is CAD 95,000 to CAD 119,000; no pay cadence is specified.

Benefits

  • Eligible employees may receive paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, bereavement and jury-duty leave, supplemental healthcare coverage, and basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, subject to employment category and location.
