Role overview

The CAD-focused Business Support Technical Analyst provides software and hardware support across the business unit.

Primary duties

  • Support Autodesk software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Map 3D, and Autodesk Forma, and Bentley software, including MicroStation and ProjectWise.
  • Maintain configuration and folder structures for CAD files and data; manage CAD user accounts and access.
  • Develop and test FME and/or Python scripts, and contribute to FME development and deployment best practices.
  • Support process and system enhancement teams and initiatives.
  • Document geospatial data transformation processes and internal procedures.
  • Support large-format plotting, scanning, and document management for CAD drawings.

Qualifications

  • Completed two-year technical diploma in Information Technology, Geomatics Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of experience with CAD and geospatial software and tools.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD is required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively in a team.
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Assets

  • A combination of Bentley and Autodesk product experience is preferred.
  • Experience with FME, SQL, Python, or another programming language is an asset.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro is an asset.

Workstyle

  • Work from home for at least part of the time may be available as a flexible work option, subject to operational requirements, employee suitability, and change based on operational needs.

Position and pay

  • One permanent and one temporary position, with the temporary position lasting up to 23 months.
  • Pay Grade 10 compensation is $44.01–$58.82 per hour.
  • Standard 35-hour work week, five days per week, with one day off in a three-week cycle.
  • Work location listed as 315 10 Avenue S.E., Calgary.
