Role Description
The Business Development Director is a part-time, hybrid role based in Dubai, with flexibility for some work from home.
This role oversees the development and execution of business growth strategies, including identifying new partnership opportunities, expanding member participation, and supporting key initiatives across the food sector.
Daily responsibilities include building and managing strategic relationships with industry stakeholders, conducting market and competitive analysis, and developing business plans to support UAE Food Cluster objectives.
The Director will lead lead-generation efforts, oversee the negotiation of collaboration agreements and contracts, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment between commercial activities and program priorities.
The role also involves representing UAE Food Cluster at events, preparing presentations and proposals, and monitoring performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in New Business Development and Lead Generation, with a track record of identifying and converting strategic opportunities.
- Strong Business Planning capabilities, including market analysis, financial modeling, and development of actionable growth strategies.
- Proficiency in Contract Negotiation, with experience structuring partnership agreements and managing stakeholder expectations.
- Solid Account Management skills, ensuring ongoing engagement and value creation for key partners and members.
- Extensive experience in business development or commercial leadership, preferably within food, agriculture, agri-tech, or related sectors.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with government entities, industry leaders, and cross-functional teams in a multi-stakeholder environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with high professional integrity and cultural awareness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are an advantage.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to work independently in a hybrid setting and manage multiple priorities.
