Project overview

The role supports Alberta public-sector IT modernization and service delivery projects for correctional services.

Projects include secure Wi-Fi implementation in correctional facilities and province-wide video visitation service implementation.

Core duties

  • Lead stakeholder consultations and meetings.
  • Create business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Review and re-engineer business processes.
  • Support IT service development and iterative model-based delivery.
  • Coordinate project meetings, communications, status reports, risks, issues, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Bridge communication among vendors, ministries, and technical and business teams.
  • Design business architecture, software specifications, and database models.
  • Perform business and technical analysis and systems design for complex n-tier software solutions.
  • Produce project artifacts using XML, UML, and web services technologies.
  • Identify required user training and perform additional Business Analyst or Lead Technical Analyst responsibilities as assigned.

Project initiatives

The Wi-Fi initiative is deploying secure wireless infrastructure across provincial correctional facilities to support digital services such as virtual courts, electronic disclosure, e-learning, telehealth, and staff mobility.

The Video Visitation Service provides secure virtual access for inmates and supports integration with the Offender Management System.

Requirements

  • Work as a Senior Technical Business Analyst supporting complex software solution delivery.
  • Create and manage business, software, functional, and technical requirements documentation.
  • Apply business and technical analysis, systems design, and project coordination across n-tier development environments.
  • Support business architecture design, software system specification design, and database modeling.
