The Body Shop Manager plans, organizes, and supervises body shop operations.
The role is responsible for efficient, safe, timely, high-quality vehicle repairs, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Operations and staff
- Manage daily body shop operations and lead technicians, painters, estimators, and support staff.
- Allocate work to maximize productivity and minimize turnaround time.
- Evaluate staff performance and identify training and development needs.
Repair quality and coordination
- Monitor repair quality for compliance with manufacturer standards and company policies.
- Review repair estimates and approve repair procedures where required.
- Coordinate with insurers, surveyors, and customers about approvals and repair progress.
- Ensure timely ordering and availability of spare parts and materials.
Workshop performance and safety
- Monitor productivity, efficiency, and labor utilization; prepare operational, productivity, and monthly performance reports.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workshop and comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Control workshop expenses and work toward revenue and profitability targets.
- Ensure proper maintenance of workshop equipment and tools.
Customer service
- Handle customer concerns professionally and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
