Design and coordinate building management system solutions across mission-critical data centre projects.
Contribute to reliable, resilient system integration and operational performance.
What you'll be doing
- Develop and review BMS architecture, control schematics, points lists, I/O schedules, sequences of operation, and technical specifications.
- Design and coordinate controls for chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, fan wall units, chilled water systems, pumps, cooling towers, and other critical HVAC equipment.
- Coordinate BMS interfaces with EPMS, DCIM, UPS, generators, electrical infrastructure, and third-party systems.
- Contribute from concept and schematic design through detailed design, tender documentation, and IFC packages.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, ICT, ELV, and other engineering disciplines.
- Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, control strategies, equipment schedules, and technical documentation.
- Develop and review sequences supporting redundancy, energy efficiency, resilience, and fail-safe operation.
- Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, commissioning, functional testing, and integrated systems testing.
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum five years of relevant BMS design and engineering experience.
- Data centre project involvement; hyperscale, Tier III, or Tier IV experience is preferred.
- Engineering design consultancy experience is highly desirable.
Technical expertise
- Strong understanding of BMS architecture, control strategies, and building automation systems.
- Experience designing controls for mission-critical cooling and HVAC infrastructure.
- Proficiency in sequences of operation, control diagrams, points lists, and BMS technical specifications.
- Experience with BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP, and other relevant communication protocols.
- Familiarity with Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, or Johnson Controls BMS platforms.
- Knowledge of BMS integration with EPMS, DCIM, and other monitoring platforms.
- Understanding of ASHRAE guidelines, industry standards, and data centre redundancy requirements.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and relevant engineering design tools.
