Blaster Painter (Shipyard) role located in Musaffah ICAD 2, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Prepare ship and marine-structure surfaces for coating and painting using abrasive blasting.
Key responsibilities
- Perform abrasive blasting on ship hulls, tanks, and steel structures.
- Remove rust, scale, old paint, and contaminants from surfaces.
- Operate and maintain blasting equipment and tools.
- Select appropriate blasting materials and techniques for different surfaces.
- Meet surface preparation standards such as SA 2.5.
- Follow safety procedures and use PPE properly.
- Inspect completed work for quality and consistency.
- Coordinate with painting and coating teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a sand blaster; shipyard or industrial experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of surface preparation standards and blasting techniques.
- Ability to operate blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Understanding of workplace safety and hazard control.
