Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D BIM models for electrical building services using Revit MEP.
• Prepare coordinated layouts and drawings for lighting, power distribution, containment, earthing, and other building electrical systems.
• Produce plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and construction documentation.
• Coordinate with HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, architectural, and structural disciplines.
• Perform clash detection and coordination with Navisworks or similar tools and resolve clashes with project teams.
• Meet project specifications, BIM Execution Plans, and applicable standards.
• Support coordinated models, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.
• Review models and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and design intent.
• Coordinate with engineers, BIM coordinators, and project teams to meet milestones.
• Support audits, quality checks, BIM standards, and workflow implementation.
• Assist with technical modeling issues and guide junior team members where required.

Required qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–10 years of electrical BIM modeling experience for building projects.
• Strong proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD; working knowledge of Navisworks.
• Good understanding of electrical building services, including lighting, small power, cable containment, and power distribution.
• Experience with commercial, residential, office, hospital, hotel, or other complex building projects.
• Understanding of multidisciplinary BIM coordination, construction documentation, international project standards, and BIM workflows.
• Strong attention to detail, coordination, communication, and time-management skills.

Preferred qualifications and competencies

• Overseas building-project experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 19650 principles and BIM Execution Plans is preferred.
• Exposure to common data environments and collaborative BIM workflows is preferred.
• Dynamo or other BIM automation tools are advantageous.
• Technical proficiency, clash resolution, quality assurance, problem-solving, teamwork, and meeting deadlines.
