BIM Engineer

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D BIM models using architectural, structural, and MEP design information; produce coordinated drawings, model views, schedules, and technical documentation.
• Review models for accuracy, consistency, and project compliance; conduct clash detection and help resolve coordination issues between disciplines.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers; manage revisions, drawing updates, and digital documentation.
• Apply BIM standards, naming conventions, modeling protocols, and quality controls; support quantity takeoffs, design reviews, and planning using BIM data where required.
• Join virtual coordination meetings, document decisions and outstanding issues, and identify improvements to modeling efficiency and data consistency.
• Assist with common data environments and organized model-sharing workflows.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of BIM modeling, building design coordination, or related engineering experience is preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil, Architectural, or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and familiarity with AutoCAD; understanding of BIM workflows, 3D modeling, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Familiarity with Navisworks or similar clash detection tools is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications; knowledge of BIM standards, model quality control, and revision management.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to coordinate with distributed teams.
• Able to manage priorities independently and meet deadlines in a remote working environment.
