BIM Engineer

The role

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain BIM models according to project specifications, design requirements, and modeling standards.
• Prepare and review coordinated 3D models, technical drawings, schedules, and project documentation.
• Coordinate design with architectural, structural, and MEP teams.
• Identify clashes, inconsistencies, and modeling issues and coordinate resolution with stakeholders.
• Support clash detection, model validation, and quality assurance.
• Assist with BIM execution plans, modeling guidelines, naming conventions, and information management procedures.
• Extract quantities, schedules, and model data for design reviews, planning, and cost-related activities as needed.
• Maintain model revisions and document-control records and communicate design changes.
• Participate in virtual coordination meetings and report modeling progress and outstanding issues.
• Support BIM standards, digital workflows, and process improvement; organize and share deliverables through approved project platforms.

Requirements and qualifications

• Practical experience with BIM software such as Autodesk Revit and Navisworks, or comparable tools.
• Understanding of BIM principles, 3D modeling, clash detection, drawing coordination, and model-based documentation.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, design specifications, and engineering information.
• Three or more years of related experience is preferred.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Architecture, MEP Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving, organization, and communication and collaboration skills for remote multidisciplinary work.
• Familiarity with BIM standards, common data environments, and ISO 19650 principles is an advantage.
• Professional certifications are not required.
