Role overview

Jacobs seeks an experienced BIM Coordinator for construction supervision and delivery of hyperscale data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects across the Middle East.

The role coordinates BIM through the construction lifecycle to integrate multidisciplinary models, maintain accuracy, resolve clashes, and meet project requirements.

Project disciplines include architectural, structural, MEP, ICT, and mission-critical systems.

BIM coordination and data centres

  • Coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, ICT, ELV, and civil BIM activities; manage federated models and comply with BIM Execution Plans, employer information requirements, and project standards.
  • Review consultant and contractor deliverables, maintain models to approved changes and construction progress, and establish coordination workflows and data procedures.
  • Coordinate data centre buildings and systems, including data halls, substations, utility plants, generators, cooling, ICT networks, and security.
  • Coordinate power distribution, UPS, generators, transformers, chilled water, cooling plants, CRAH/CRAC, fire protection, structured cabling, DCIM, BMS, and security infrastructure.
  • Support reliable, redundant, and operationally effective integration of architectural, structural, MEP, and ICT systems.

Clash detection and construction support

  • Conduct model reviews and clash detection, identify and track cross-discipline issues, coordinate resolution, and prepare clash reports, logs, and action trackers.
  • Support constructability reviews and identify design, installation, and operational conflicts before construction starts.
  • Support construction supervision with model-based reviews, checks against construction documents and shop drawings, and resolution of site coordination issues.
  • Support temporary works models when required and update models to reflect as-built conditions.

Digital delivery and stakeholders

  • Generate model-based reports and visualizations and support quantity extraction, project tracking, and progress monitoring.
  • Maintain the Common Data Environment and document control procedures; prepare BIM reports and coordination summaries.
  • Support digital handover and asset information requirements at project closeout.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, project managers, design teams, and construction personnel; facilitate meetings and workshops and provide BIM workflow guidance.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 8–10 years of BIM coordination, design coordination, or digital engineering experience.
  • 3–5 years of direct experience on hyperscale or Tier III/Tier IV data centres, mission-critical facilities, or digital infrastructure projects.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models across architectural, structural, MEP, ICT, and specialist systems.
  • BIM Management or Digital Engineering certification is preferred.

Work arrangement

  • The description states that onsite employees are expected to attend a Jacobs workplace full-time as required by the nature of the role.
