Role overview

Design, build, and maintain business intelligence and analytical products that turn data into trusted, actionable insight.

Support decision makers with timely, accurate information aligned with business priorities.

Work with stakeholders to translate requirements into data models, dashboards, and metrics that support service experience and contractual performance.

Accountabilities

  • Translate stakeholder questions and requirements into actionable data products, with guidance from Lead BI engineers or BI managers.
  • Develop dashboards and reports aligned to established standards.
  • Create and maintain scalable data models that reflect business processes, enable correct analysis, and support reuse.
  • Communicate insights through clear, audience-appropriate visualization and storytelling.
  • Validate logic, test outputs, and challenge anomalies to ensure accurate, consistent BI products.
  • Own backlog items through delivery, manage time and dependencies, and meet agreed commitments within delivery frameworks.
  • Participate in stakeholder workshops, monitor usage, and use feedback to improve BI products.

Essential requirements

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent practical experience in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in data or analytics in a complex organization, delivering solutions across multiple business units and workstreams.
  • Proven BI solution delivery experience, ideally using Power BI.
  • Strong analytical capability, data visualization, and storytelling experience.
  • Experience producing senior stakeholder insight and narrative reporting.
  • Intermediate proficiency in analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel.
  • Practical experience designing dimensional data models and applying Kimball principles.
  • SQL experience for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
  • Experience validating and assuring BI output quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to translate business needs into repeatable BI solutions.
  • Ability to manage workload and deliver in an Agile-oriented way.

Desirable experience

  • Power BI Service administration and governance features.
  • Automation tools such as Power Automate.
  • Complex SQL queries and performance optimization.
  • Monitoring BI usage and iterating products based on feedback.
  • Exposure to modern data platforms or cloud analytics ecosystems; Azure and Databricks are preferred.

Stakeholders

Internal stakeholders include operational stakeholders and leaders, performance teams, Business Intelligence and Insight, Business Finance, Business Planning (WFM), Technology Data and Analytics, and Technology Platform teams.

External stakeholders include operational system providers, platform partners, and external consultants where applicable.

Competencies

The organization identifies respect, effective partnership, innovative solutions, customer focus, compassion, responsibility, integrity, and business understanding as competencies.

Understand business processes, priorities, and decision-making contexts, and distinguish useful insight from merely interesting data.

Frame analytical work in terms of business outcomes.

Work arrangement

  • The role is remote in the United Kingdom.
  • The description states full-time and a 12-month fixed-term contract.
