The 1916 Company is seeking a highly skilled and talented bench jeweler to join our team in our Newport Beach (California) location.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for jewelry-making, exceptional technical expertise, and meticulous attention to detail.

As a bench jeweler, you will play a crucial role in crafting and repairing high-end jewelry pieces to meet our exacting standards of quality and craftsmanship.

• Execute intricate jewelry repairs, resizing, and restoration work on various types of precious metals and gemstones.
• Create exquisite custom jewelry pieces according to client specifications, utilizing a range of techniques including stone setting, soldering, polishing, and engraving.
• Utilize a wide array of tools and equipment, including but not limited to lasers, microscopes, and specialized machinery, to perform intricate jewelry work.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

• Ability to work with all metals, including 14k, 18k, platinum and sterling silver.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with team members and customers.
• A commitment to upholding the highest standards of craftmanship and quality in all work produced.
• Proven experience as a bench jeweler or similar role in a luxury jewelry setting.
• Proficiency in a variety of jewelry-making techniques such as stone setting, soldering, engraving, and polishing.
• Attention to detail and excellent craftsmanship.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a bench jeweler
• Proficient in laser welding.
• Proficient in finishing castings and polishing.

• Pay rate: $33 per Hour

• Proven experience as a bench jeweler in a luxury jewelry setting for a minimum of three years.
• Ability to work with all precious metals, including platinum, all karat golds, and sterling silver.
• Proficiency in core jewelry-making techniques such as stone setting, fabrication, laser welding, graver work, and polishing/finishing.
• Pearl stringing, hand/computer engraving, CAD experience a plus.
• Computer literacy.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with team members and customers in a professional manner.
• A commitment to upholding the highest standards and quality in all work produced is a must.
