Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, specialty coffees, teas, and cold beverages to the café's quality standards.
- Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and process payments through the point-of-sale system.
- Operate, clean, and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other cafe equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work area in line with Qatar Ministry of Public Health food safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels of coffee, milk, syrups, and supplies, and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and daily reconciliation.
- Support the preparation of light snacks, pastries, and sandwiches when required.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures at all times.
- Contribute to special events, exhibitions, and university functions held on campus.
Essential Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a barista or in a cafe/hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of espresso preparation, milk steaming, and basic latte art.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Good command of English; Arabic will be an advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings and in line with the academic calendar.
- Valid Food Handler's Health Card (or willingness to obtain one).
Preferred Qualifications
- Barista certification or hospitality training.
- Previous experience in a university, corporate, or high-volume cafe.
- Basic cashier experience.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
