AV & Technology Manager

Role overview

Strategy and project delivery

• Set AV and immersive-technology strategy, design standards, performance specifications, and quality benchmarks.
• Integrate technology into storytelling and visitor experiences with creative, architectural, and exhibition teams.
• Provide technical direction for bids, RFP responses, and feasibility studies.
• Lead projects from concept design and engineering through procurement, integration, commissioning, and handover.
• Oversee BIM and technical documentation; implement testing, quality-control, and commissioning protocols.
• Coordinate interfaces with content, scenography, fit-out, lighting, mechanical, and IT teams.

Innovation, procurement, and engagement

• Track VR, AR, MR, AI-driven interactives, spatial audio, and projection mapping; lead R&D pilots and technology roadmaps.
• Develop international procurement strategies and negotiate contracts, warranties, and service agreements.
• Oversee global freight, customs, import/export compliance, and installation scheduling.
• Advise clients, negotiate with clients and partners, and support business development through pitches and workshops.

Team leadership

• Build and mentor an AV engineering and delivery team, establish KPIs and growth pathways, and promote technical excellence and collaboration.
• Lead knowledge sharing to build internal capability in emerging technologies.

Skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Systems, or a related discipline.
• 20+ years delivering AV and immersive technology for museums, exhibitions, themed entertainment, or large-scale events.
• Proven technical leadership on multimillion-dollar international projects.
• Expertise in AV system design, projection, lighting, sound, control systems, acoustic planning, and networking (Cisco CCNA).
• Advanced proficiency in BIM, CAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Dante.
• Strong knowledge of global AV supply chains, vendor ecosystems, and procurement strategies.
• AVIXA CTS certification is preferred.
