Automotive General Manager

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Oversee vehicle sales, servicing, repairs, and customer service operations.
• Develop strategies to grow revenue, profitability, and market share.
• Lead sales, service-advisor, technician, and administrative teams; oversee recruitment, training, evaluations, and workforce planning.
• Monitor sales, workshop productivity, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
• Manage budgets, operating expenses, inventory, and financial performance.
• Maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, manufacturers, and business partners.
• Ensure sales, maintenance, repair, after-sales, regulatory, and safety standards are met.
• Implement marketing and customer-retention initiatives; identify opportunities, trends, and operational improvements.
• Resolve major customer complaints and operational issues; report financial, sales, and operating performance to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Automotive Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive automotive industry experience, including management or leadership responsibilities.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, decision-making, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of automotive sales, after-sales services, workshop operations, and customer relationship management.
• Proven ability to achieve sales targets, manage budgets, and improve profitability; able to lead multidisciplinary teams and multiple functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and automotive management systems.
• Customer-focused, commercially minded, proactive, and committed to operational excellence.
