The Associate Portfolio Manager works with experienced investment counsellors at RBC Phillips, Hager & North Investment Counsel.
The role supports customized investment strategies and ongoing portfolio management for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and charitable foundations.
Responsibilities
- Support investment counsellors in managing client portfolios.
- Assist with customized investment strategies, models, proposals, and action plans for existing and prospective clients.
- Implement action plans and manage portfolios toward performance goals.
- Monitor and rebalance portfolios in line with investment policy statements and risk management policies.
- Maintain client profiles and document relationship-development next steps.
- Help prepare annual reviews and prospective-client meetings.
- Participate in analyst presentations on investment strategy and analysis.
- Review risk management reports and recommend solutions to portfolio issues.
Required qualifications
- CFA charter designation.
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in business, finance, or economics.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel.
Additional qualifications
- Graduate degree, preferably in business or finance, is an asset.
- Financial planner diploma granted by the Institute of Financial Planning is an asset.
Compensation
- The expected pay range is $67,000 to $110,000 for the primary work location; location-based ranges may differ.
- The role may include discretionary variable compensation, subject to business performance and individual goals.
Work schedule
- The posting lists 37.5 work hours per week.
