Role overview

Associate Operational Access Management Analyst in Sainsbury’s Tech Operational Governance team, within the Customer & Data domain.

Drives access management controls, audits and improvements to help meet regulations and policies governing data access.

Focuses on governance of personally identifiable information (PII) and democratised data.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate colleague access to privileged systems and tools using defined processes.
  • Support creation and maintenance of the PII process and internal system controls.
  • Help build workflows for PII access, identify stakeholders and owners, and improve access processes for PII and commercially sensitive data.
  • Use Microsoft Forms, JIRA and other systems to manage access and document processes for audit and compliance.
  • Ensure requests and approvals are recorded and auditable through the ticketing system.
  • Report on and monitor existing PII access in line with team procedures.
  • Support PII access requests and issues, provide guidance on PII use, and act as a point of contact for access questions.
  • Report access information to Group Governance and entity or data owners.
  • Support GDPR compliance across Technology.
  • Conduct regular self-audits and audits across the data community; review access for PII, leavers, movers and unused accounts, and expire access when needed.
  • Escalate non-compliance, identify and resolve access issues, support process improvements and automation, and manage urgent requests alongside longer-term projects.

What you need to demonstrate

  • An innovative mindset and a passion for solving problems.
  • Good knowledge of data landscapes across traditional, open-source, digital and cloud-based environments.
  • Basic database and cloud configuration skills.
  • Some knowledge of access management concepts and their importance.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Some previous experience or knowledge of BI tools.

Contract and hours

  • Full-time hours.
  • Permanent contract.

  • Location is listed as Sainsbury’s Store Support Centre and home in London, indicating a hybrid arrangement.
