Role purpose
Support delivery of firefighting and firefighter leadership training to candidates and other groups through presentations, demonstrations, and instruction.
Assist instructors in assessing candidate performance and maintain knowledge of firefighting standards, regulations, and procedures.
Key accountabilities
- Deliver practical instruction and support Fire and Rescue training programmes safely and effectively.
- Assess student performance against recognized standards and support learning assessment, planning, and evaluation.
- Prepare and resource training events, conduct required testing and servicing, and maintain equipment and apparatus.
- Assess venue and activity risks; support accident investigations and health and safety practices.
- Assist with course content development and provide follow-up reports and action plans to students or sponsors.
- Report performance, safety, shortfall, and non-conformity matters to line managers.
- Maintain personal fitness, take part in development and appraisal, and represent the organization at industry events as required.
Specific requirements
- 10 years of Fire and Rescue experience with IFTC-approved Aviation Firefighter and ICS Level 1 certification.
- Technical understanding of firefighting techniques, including NOGBA and Fire Service Manual Volume 4.
- Willing to attain Level 3 certification in Training and Assessing and able to attain instructor certification in Breathing Apparatus and Compartment Fire Behaviour Training.
- Fluent written and spoken English; hold or be able to obtain a Class I Aviation Medical certificate.
- Valid UAE HGV driver's licence and MS Office skills, including Word and PowerPoint.
Work setting
- The role involves practical instruction and maintenance of firefighting equipment at training venues.
