Opportunity and purpose

Control Risks is strengthening its Advisory & Risk Consulting presence in Saudi Arabia and seeks an in-country senior lead for risk and resilience consulting.

The Associate Director will lead origination, sale, and delivery of engagements, own key client relationships, develop colleagues, and help build the Saudi practice.

Initial focus areas include enterprise risk management, security management, business continuity, crisis management, and organisational resilience.

Client delivery and technical leadership

  • Lead complex engagements from scoping and mobilisation through delivery, quality assurance, closure, and follow-on work.
  • Advise on organisational resilience, enterprise risk management, security management, business continuity, crisis management, and emergency preparedness.
  • Translate recognised standards and good practice into pragmatic solutions suited to client operating environments.
  • Facilitate executive interviews, workshops, simulations, and decision-making sessions with boards and senior leaders.
  • Manage scope, quality, resources, budget, schedule, risk, and client expectations while remaining actively involved in delivery.

Business development and account growth

  • Lead Saudi business development in collaboration with regional practice leadership, local colleagues, and other business lines.
  • Build senior client relationships and align the firm’s services with clients’ strategic, operational, and regulatory priorities.
  • Own opportunities from qualification and solution design through teaming, proposals, pricing, negotiation, conversion, and delivery transition.
  • Develop priority-client account plans and identify repeat, programme-based, and multidisciplinary work.
  • Maintain pipeline, forecast, and client activity information and represent the firm at relevant events and roundtables.

Practice building and leadership

  • Help establish a sustainable Saudi delivery model and grow the local Advisory & Risk Consulting team.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop consultants’ technical capability, consulting skills, and commercial judgement.
  • Plan portfolio resourcing and draw on regional and global expertise when needed.
  • Protect intellectual property, capture lessons learned, and improve reusable methods, tools, and deliverables.
  • Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning; promote collaboration across teams.

Innovation and risk management

  • Advance responsible use of data, automation, and emerging technology in consulting propositions and delivery tools.
  • Connect risk and resilience work with cyber, technology, intelligence, security, and other firm capabilities.
  • Ensure engagements meet legal, risk, contracting, information-management, and professional standards.
  • Model sound commercial judgement, integrity, and disciplined handling of sensitive client information.

Essential experience

  • Typically 8–10 years of substantial consulting experience leading work in enterprise risk, security management, business continuity, crisis management, or organisational resilience.
  • Experience leading complex engagements and accountability for delivery quality and commercial outcomes.
  • Proven ability to originate work, grow accounts, and convert opportunities through senior relationships and compelling proposals.
  • Executive stakeholder credibility and ability to influence and challenge constructively.
  • GCC experience and understanding of Saudi consulting delivery; prior work with Saudi clients is essential.
  • Experience managing, coaching, and developing consultants.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and ability to produce concise executive materials.
  • Ability to be based permanently in Riyadh and travel in the Kingdom and wider region as required.

Preferred experience and qualifications

  • Arabic fluency is preferred; Saudi nationals are strongly encouraged to apply, with preference potentially given under applicable localisation requirements and hiring laws.
  • Sector experience in government, Vision 2030 entities, technology, entertainment, financial services, energy, critical infrastructure, industrials, or logistics is preferred.
  • Multidisciplinary programme delivery, consulting capability building, and familiarity with technology-enabled risk solutions, analytics, or responsible AI are preferred.
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • A recognised qualification in risk, security management, business continuity, crisis management, or a related field, such as IRM, MBCI/CBCI, or CBCP, is sought; a relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous.

Benefits

  • The employer offers a competitively positioned compensation and benefits package.
  • Benefits include private medical insurance, an annual housing allowance, and monthly employer contributions to the DIFC Employment Workplace Saving Scheme.
