Control Risks is strengthening its Advisory & Risk Consulting presence in Saudi Arabia.

The Associate Director is the in-country senior lead for risk and resilience consulting, based permanently in Riyadh.

The role combines senior client delivery, business development, account leadership, and Saudi practice building.

Initial focus includes enterprise risk management, security management, business continuity, crisis management, and organizational resilience.

Client delivery and technical leadership

  • Lead complex engagements from scoping and mobilization through delivery, quality assurance, closure, and follow-on work.
  • Advise on organizational resilience, enterprise risk, security management, business continuity, crisis management, and emergency preparedness.
  • Translate recognized standards and good practice into locally relevant, practical client solutions.
  • Facilitate executive interviews, workshops, simulations, and decision-making sessions with boards and senior management.
  • Manage scope, quality, resourcing, budget, schedule, risk, and client expectations while remaining actively involved in delivery.

Business development and account growth

  • Lead Saudi Advisory & Risk Consulting business development in partnership with regional practice leaders and in-country colleagues.
  • Build trusted senior relationships and align Control Risks offerings with clients’ strategic, operational, and regulatory priorities.
  • Own opportunities from qualification, solution design, teaming, and proposals through pricing, negotiation, conversion, and delivery transition.
  • Develop account plans, pursue repeat and multidisciplinary work, and maintain accurate pipeline, forecast, and client activity information.
  • Represent Control Risks at relevant client events, roundtables, and thought-leadership activities in the Kingdom.

Practice and people leadership

  • Help establish a sustainable in-country delivery model and grow the Saudi Advisory & Risk Consulting team.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide feedback to consultants, strengthening technical, consulting, and commercial capabilities.
  • Plan resources across the Saudi portfolio and draw on regional and global expertise as needed.
  • Capture intellectual property, embed lessons learned, and improve reuse of methods, tools, and deliverables.
  • Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning; foster collaboration across regional and global teams.

Innovation, technology, and risk

  • Advance responsible use of data, automation, and emerging technology in consulting propositions, methods, and delivery tools.
  • Connect risk and resilience work with cyber, technology, intelligence, security, and other capabilities where appropriate.
  • Ensure engagements comply with applicable legal, risk, contracting, information-management, and professional standards.
  • Model sound commercial judgment, professional integrity, and disciplined handling of sensitive client information.

Essential experience

  • Substantial consulting experience, typically 8–10 years, leading engagements in enterprise risk, security management, business continuity, crisis management, or organizational resilience.
  • Demonstrated leadership of multiple complex engagements and accountability for delivery quality and commercial outcomes.
  • Proven ability to originate work, grow accounts, and convert opportunities through senior relationships and proposals.
  • Executive stakeholder credibility; GCC experience and a strong understanding of Saudi consulting delivery, including prior Saudi client experience.
  • Experience managing and developing consultants; excellent written and spoken English and strong executive writing skills.
  • Able and willing to be based permanently in Riyadh and travel within Saudi Arabia and the wider region as required.

Preferred experience and qualifications

  • Fluent spoken and written Arabic is preferred.
  • Experience in sectors such as government, sovereign or Vision 2030 entities, technology, entertainment, financial services, energy, infrastructure, industrials, or logistics is preferred.
  • Multidisciplinary programme delivery, consulting capability building, and technology-enabled risk and resilience experience are preferred.
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience; relevant master’s degree is advantageous.
  • Recognized qualifications such as IRM, MBCI/CBCI, CBCP, or equivalent are relevant professional credentials.

Capabilities and behaviors

  • Commercial and business intellect; client-centric judgment; executive presence and personal impact.
  • Structured problem-solving, clear and persuasive communication, ownership, and accountability.
  • Inclusive people leadership, collaboration across disciplines and geographies, adaptability, and tenacity.
  • Integrity, discretion, and professionalism.

Benefits
