Associate Dean - Clinical

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Lead clinical education, training, and student placements; coordinate rotations, placements, and training schedules.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with teaching hospitals and healthcare institutions.
• Ensure compliance with academic, regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards.
• Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement in clinical education.
• Develop, implement, and improve residency programs; obtain accreditation and oversee ongoing compliance.
• Support curriculum development, competency frameworks, and student assessment.
• Oversee and support clinical faculty, tutors, preceptors, and clinical educators.
• Monitor training outcomes, student performance and feedback, and clinical-site effectiveness.

Education and experience

• Medical qualification and doctorate or highest professional degree in the respective clinical specialty.
• 8–10 years of relevant clinical and/or academic experience.
• Significant experience in clinical education and health professions education.
• Experience with accreditation, quality assurance, and clinical partnerships.
• A PhD or Master’s degree in Health Professions Education is preferred.
• Prior academic leadership as Associate/Assistant Dean, Programme Director, or Department Head is preferred.
