Assistant Resident Engineer (Structures/Bridges) role based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Supports the Resident Engineer with project operations and supervision of bridge and structures construction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise construction of bridges, structures, and associated works; act for the Resident Engineer during absences.
- Coordinate engineers, inspectors, surveyors, contractors, designers, service authorities, and other parties.
- Review drawings, proposals, method statements, correspondence, and submissions; support resolution of design and site issues.
- Maintain diaries, inspection reports, and complete records; prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Coordinate contractor schedules and resources; measure work and track progress against the programme.
- Support safety implementation, provide site direction, verify as-built drawings, and assist with handover and final clearances.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- At least 10 years’ experience in design, site supervision, and construction management of infrastructure projects, including roads and bridges.
- At least two years managing supervision activities on large-scale infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi is mandatory.
- Ability to review material submissions, analyze technical and laboratory reports, and carry out sampling, testing, and quality measures.
- Sound knowledge of contractual relationships and computer literacy for project records, reports, and relevant engineering software.
- Fluent written and spoken English with strong technical writing and communication skills.
Desired skills
- Knowledge of quality assurance specifications and statistical quality control is desired.
Work location
- The role includes on-site project direction and site safety responsibilities in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
