Assistant Project Manager

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Assist with schedules, budgets, and resource plans; coordinate clients, contractors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and risks; prepare status reports, cost forecasts, and performance metrics.
• Support procurement, vendor selection, and contract management; ensure compliance with local requirements, safety, and quality standards.
• Resolve technical issues with cross-functional teams; conduct site visits and inspections.
• Assist with change management and document control; contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned.
• Support sustainable construction practices.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Five years of civil infrastructure experience focused on roads, bridges, or utilities.
• Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of construction methods, project planning, scheduling, cost control, contract management, and procurement.
• Familiarity with ADQCC and UAE local authority requirements; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of sustainable construction practices; strong organization, time management, communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• BIM familiarity is a plus; PMP certification is preferred.
• Willingness to travel to UAE project sites as required.

• Work location model is hybrid.
• New hires must attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office.
