Assistant Night Manager

Position summary

Guest and front-desk operations

• Process check-ins, verify identity and payment, assign rooms, issue keys, and set up guest accounts.
• Enter Marriott Rewards information, check rates against market codes, and document exceptions.
• Verify and adjust billing; process payments, vouchers, paid-outs, and charges; obtain manual authorizations.
• Compile daily reports, logs, and contingency lists; complete cashier and closing reports.
• Balance and deposit receipts, and count and secure the bank at shift start and end.
• Provide directions and property information, handle guest requests, contact appropriate staff, and follow up.
• Notify Loss Prevention or Security of guest reports of theft.

Team support and standards

• Assist management with training, evaluating, counseling, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Serve as a role model and first contact for the fair-treatment and open-door process; respond appropriately to employee concerns.
• Build positive working relationships and support team goals.
• Follow company policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training, protect company assets, and maintain confidentiality.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and communicate professionally.
• Use computers and POS systems, uphold quality standards, and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Preferred qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred.
• No license or certification is specified.

Physical demands

• The role requires standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and moving objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
