Leads merchandise buying for the sneaker category targeting GCC countries.
Buying and category responsibilities
- Manage assortment planning, range selection, sample review, order placement, budget tracking, and post-season performance review.
- Analyze sales history, inventory, sell-through, and market trends to build buying plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Curate sneaker ranges suited to GCC consumers while balancing commercial performance and product design.
- Use merchandising systems for order management, inventory monitoring, and reporting.
- Prepare regular summaries, insights, and action plans; conduct post-buy reviews and adjust seasonal buying strategy.
- Collaborate with design, supply chain, sales, and local GCC partners; apply commercial principles in negotiations and decisions.
- Track GCC market developments, plan category direction over the medium and long term, and support sustainable growth.
- Inspect sneaker samples and bulk goods, identify defects or non-conformities, recommend corrections, and control quality risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Retail Management, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of sneaker-category merchandise buying experience, including direct GCC market ordering.
- Strong data-planning and style-selection ability, with sharp footwear aesthetic judgment.
- Hands-on experience with different merchandising systems.
- Ability to independently manage the full merchandise-buying cycle through post-season review.
- Professional footwear knowledge covering sneaker materials, craftsmanship, structure, comfort, and production standards.
