Production planning and operations
- Plan, schedule, and run daily production according to sales orders, pour schedules, and delivery commitments.
- Oversee batching plant operations and ensure each batch follows the approved mix design and job specification.
- Coordinate with Dispatch/Logistics, Sales, and QC for order flow, truck mixer and pump allocation, and timely site delivery.
- Manage large and continuous pours, including night and special pours, hot-weather concreting, chilled water/ice, and special mixes.
- Track plant productivity, truck turnaround, and uptime, and resolve bottlenecks.
Materials and inventory
- Monitor stocks of cement, supplementary materials, aggregates, sand, and admixtures and raise material requirements in time.
- Control material consumption, wastage, returned and rejected concrete, and reconcile materials against production volumes.
- Oversee aggregate stockpiles, moisture corrections, and ice and chilled-water systems.
Quality control
- Work with QC to ensure concrete meets specified grade, slump, temperature, and durability requirements.
- Maintain batching tolerances and ensure weighing systems and admixture dispensers are calibrated and records kept.
- Investigate production-related customer complaints and non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
Maintenance and safety
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance of batching plants, mixers, conveyors, silos, loaders, and chillers; minimize downtime and maintain standby arrangements.
- Enforce plant HSE rules, including PPE, safe work systems, housekeeping, and internal traffic management.
- Comply with authority requirements for dust, noise, wastewater, and concrete washout.
- Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 systems and participate in internal and external audits.
People and reporting
- Lead, supervise, train, and assess production staff; plan shifts and manpower.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, KPIs, and cost analyses for management.
- Deputize for the Production/Plant Manager when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–12 years in ready-mix concrete production, including 3–5 years in a supervisory or assistant-manager role running a batching plant.
- UAE/GCC ready-mix experience is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on knowledge of batching plant systems and controls, such as Liebherr, Elkon, SIMEM, MEKA, or similar; mix designs; and concrete technology.
- Good understanding of hot-weather concreting and local specifications, including Dubai Municipality and BS EN 206 / ASTM.
- Valid UAE driving licence preferred.
