Assistant Manager, Infrastructure & Resilience (1132)

About This Role

Job Purpose The Assistant Manager, Infrastructure & Resilience is responsible for supporting the operational management of enterprise compute infrastructure and ensuring the reliability, availability, and resilience of infrastructure platforms across SOPC. The role oversees server infrastructure, operating systems, hosting environments, storage platforms, backup services, and disaster recovery capabilities to maintain stable and secure infrastructure services supporting organizational systems and digital solutions.

The position focuses primarily on infrastructure availability and compute platform operations while collaborating closely with cloud, identity, network, and security teams to ensure infrastructure services operate reliably and can recover effectively from disruptions. The role also supports infrastructure monitoring, operational maintenance, and disaster recovery preparedness across infrastructure environments

Infrastructure Platform Operations

• Support operational management of enterprise infrastructure platforms including server infrastructure, virtualization platforms, and application hosting environments.
• Ensure stable operation of infrastructure services supporting enterprise applications, web services, and digital platforms across the organization

Compute & Platform Administration

• Support administration and operational management of enterprise compute infrastructure including physical servers, virtual machines, and hosting platforms.
• Manage and maintain server operating systems across enterprise environments, ensuring systems remain secure, stable, and properly configured.
• Support operational management of web servers and application hosting platforms used to deliver enterprise services and digital solutions.
• Ensure proper system configuration, patch management, and operational maintenance across compute platforms.
• Support provisioning and lifecycle management of infrastructure systems and hosting environments

Storage Infrastructure

• Support management of enterprise storage systems ensuring reliable and secure data storage services.
• Assist with storage allocation, capacity monitoring, and performance optimization activities.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Support operation and maintenance of backup services ensuring reliable protection of infrastructure systems and enterprise data.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining disaster recovery mechanisms to support infrastructure resilience.
• Participate in disaster recovery testing and validation exercises to ensure recovery readiness.

Data Center Infrastructure Operations

• Support operational management and maintenance of the organization’s data center infrastructure, including server racks, compute platforms, storage systems, and supporting infrastructure components.
• Ensure proper operation of data center environments supporting enterprise infrastructure platforms.
• Coordinate with facilities and vendors to maintain power, cooling, rack infrastructure, and physical infrastructure components required for stable data center operations.
• Support planning and implementation of data center infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and hardware lifecycle management.

Infrastructure Monitoring & Availability

• Monitor infrastructure platforms to ensure operational stability and early detection of system issues.
• Support proactive identification and resolution of infrastructure performance or availability risks.
• Assist with infrastructure health monitoring and operational reporting.

Incident & Operational Support

• Investigate and resolve infrastructure-related incidents affecting systems availability and performance.
• Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for recurring infrastructure issues.
• Coordinate with Service Desk and internal teams to resolve escalated infrastructure incidents.

Infrastructure Integration

• Support integration of infrastructure platforms with cloud services, identity systems, and enterprise applications.
• Collaborate with cloud, identity, network, and security teams to ensure infrastructure platforms operate effectively within the overall technology environment.

Cross-Team Operational Support

• Collaborate with other members of the Infrastructure & Platforms team to support operational activities when required.
• Provide cross-functional support across infrastructure, cloud, and identity services to ensure operational continuity.
• Maintain domain expertise in infrastructure resilience while supporting broader infrastructure operations when necessary.

Operational Documentation

• Maintain infrastructure documentation including configuration standards, operational procedures, and technical runbooks.
• Support development of operational documentation to improve infrastructure service management

Vendor & Technology Coordination

• Coordinate with vendors supporting infrastructure platforms including server, storage, and backup technologies.
• Assist in managing vendor support cases and infrastructure maintenance activities

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with cloud, identity, and network teams to ensure infrastructure platforms effectively support enterprise services.
• Support internal stakeholders to maintain reliable infrastructure services for business operations and digital solutions.
