Assistant Learning and Development Manager

Role summary

Training delivery and evaluation

• Promote training programs and inform employees about available programs.
• Help employees identify service-excellence behaviors and understand guest expectations.
• Use effective methods to teach guest satisfaction skills and incorporate adult learning principles.
• Meet with training staff and participants, monitor attendance, assess progress, and address concerns.
• Observe service behaviors and provide feedback to employees or managers.
• Partner with operational leaders to assess skills and evaluate the impact of training on operations.
• Review guest satisfaction results and other data to identify improvement areas.

Program planning and budgets

• Identify performance gaps and work with managers to develop training or retraining interventions.
• Align programs with business indicators, service performance, brand values, and continuous improvement.
• Assist with developing the training budget and managing expenses in line with HR and property financial goals.
• Assist with training methodology adjustments and departmental expense controls.

Education and experience

• Required pathway 1: a 2-year degree in HR, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major; 1 year of HR or related professional experience; and trainer certification.
• Required pathway 2: a 4-year bachelor's degree in one of the listed or related fields and trainer certification; no work experience is required.
