Assistant Housekeeping Manager

Position summary

Housekeeping operations

• Inspect cleaned guest rooms, public areas, and pool areas to ensure quality standards.
• Run sold-room reports, verify room status, identify discrepant rooms, prioritize cleaning, and update departing-room status.
• Assist housekeeping management with daily activities and coordinate the efforts of Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.
• Document and resolve room discrepancies with the Front Desk; prepare and communicate room-assignment changes.
• Communicate issues to the next shift and complete required paperwork.

Team leadership and guest service

• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and express appreciation.
• Build positive working relationships, communicate professionally, and listen and respond appropriately to employee concerns.

Preferred qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred.
• No license or certification is specified.

Physical and work requirements

• May need to move, lift, carry, and place objects up to 55 pounds without assistance and heavier objects with assistance.
• Must be able to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.
• Work may require extended standing, sitting, kneeling, or walking, plus reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and fine motor coordination.
• Must be able to use computers and/or point-of-sale systems and read and visually verify information in varied formats.

• Maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and uphold quality standards.
