Role overview

Food preparation and stock

• Carry out daily and backup preparation; prepare vegetables, chicken, sauces, and other ingredients to company recipes and specifications.
• Use safe and accurate knife techniques for cutting, slicing, dicing, and portioning.
• Label products with preparation and expiry dates and clear product identification.
• Follow FIFO and stock-rotation procedures; monitor ingredients and maintain backup preparation for service.
• Store food correctly, control temperatures, and handle raw and ready-to-eat products safely.
• Monitor freshness and report expired, damaged, or unsuitable ingredients promptly.
• Reduce waste through appropriate preparation, portion control, and responsible ingredient handling.

Kitchen operations and safety

• Maintain personal hygiene, kitchen cleanliness, and food safety in accordance with HACCP procedures.
• Organize preparation stations, chillers, and storage areas for efficient workflow.
• Follow standardized recipes, kitchen SOPs, and senior chefs’ instructions.
• Support kitchen opening, service preparation, and closing duties.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Assistant Cook, Commis Chef, or in a similar kitchen position.
• Strong knife skills and professional food preparation experience.
• Practical knowledge of food labeling, date marking, FIFO, and stock rotation.
• Ability to organize backup preparation and maintain an efficient preparation station.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and proper food storage.
• Strong attention to detail, discipline, and time management; able to work under pressure in a busy restaurant.
• Basic English communication skills are preferred.

Pay and employment

• Full-time position.
• Pay is AED 2,000 per month.

• Work is in person in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
