About The Role
Lead the review, coordination, and technical oversight of architectural and engineering works across JTC’s multimodal transport infrastructure projects (Land and Maritime), ensuring designs and delivered assets are feasible, safe, compliant, constructable, and aligned with operational and customer experience objectives. Provide technical leadership across architectural, civil, structural, and related engineering interfaces throughout design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover, safeguarding the quality, integrity, and readiness of infrastructure works in line with relevant local and international standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical review of architectural and engineering design submissions for transport infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with approved standards, project requirements, and operational needs.
- Review and approve designs for feasibility, safety, constructability, maintainability, accessibility, and integration, ensuring solutions support multimodal operations and customer experience objectives.
- Lead the review and coordination of architectural and engineering works related to maritime infrastructure projects, including marine stations, piers, jetties, waterfront transport interfaces, passenger facilities, and associated landside connections, ensuring compliance with technical standards, constructability requirements, safety regulations, and operational readiness requirements.
- Coordinate design interfaces between architectural works and other engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, systems, utilities, landscape, and public realm requirements.
- Support the preparation of technical inputs for tenders, scope of works, contract documents, bill of quantities reviews, and procurement evaluations related to architectural and engineering works packages.
- Monitor the execution of architectural and engineering works on site, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality benchmarks, safety requirements, and approved construction methodologies.
- Lead and participate in site inspections, technical walk-downs, mock-up reviews, and progress assessments, identifying defects, quality issues, and non-conformances and ensuring timely resolution with contractors and consultants.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, design changes, and technical variations, ensuring all submissions are properly assessed, coordinated, documented, and approved before implementation.
- Coordinate with project delivery, operations, and infrastructure teams to ensure technical solutions are integrated, compliant, maintainable, and ready for operational handover.
- Support testing, commissioning, snagging, and readiness activities for architectural and engineering elements, ensuring deficiencies are addressed prior to service activation and handover.
- Manage technical issue resolution with consultants, contractors, authorities, and internal stakeholders, providing practical engineering guidance to maintain progress, quality, and compliance of delivery.
- Track technical risks, design issues, quality concerns, and interface conflicts related to architectural and engineering works, and support mitigation measures to protect cost, schedule, and asset performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, national, and international building, engineering, accessibility, fire life safety, environmental, and quality codes and standards across all assigned projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering or relevant field. A Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in relevant line of work.
