Arada | Heavy Bus Driver

Role Purpose

Passenger and Material Transport

• Drive assigned routes and schedules between work sites, accommodation, offices, and other locations.
• Transport materials, tools, and equipment when permitted, securing loads within vehicle capacity.
• Follow approved routes, pickup and drop-off points, and timetables; report delays or changes.
• Ensure passengers board and alight safely, follow bus rules, and use seatbelts where fitted.

Vehicle Care and Compliance

• Complete and record daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle safety equipment and components.
• Report defects, accidents, damage, and breakdowns immediately; do not operate unsafe vehicles.
• Keep vehicles clean and ensure registration, insurance, inspection, and permits are valid and carried.
• Complete logbooks, trip, mileage, and fuel records accurately; follow maintenance schedules and safeguard vehicle documents.

Warehouse Support

• Receive goods by unloading them safely, checking deliveries against notes or orders, and reporting discrepancies.
• Put goods away in the correct locations and help label, tag, and organize stock.
• Pick, pack, and stage orders; load and secure goods safely and check quantities against dispatch documents.
• Deliver materials as instructed, obtain signatures, return documents, and report shortages, damage, or errors before departure.

Safety and Reporting

• Keep work areas, loading bays, and vehicle parking areas clean and free from hazards.
• Follow company HSE rules, safe work procedures, manual handling practices, and site traffic rules; wear required PPE.
• Report incidents, near misses, injuries, unsafe conditions, and property damage; participate in drills and training.
• Maintain accurate records and hand over cash, receipts, documents, and lost property.

Requirements

• Valid UAE heavy bus driving licence, or a licence eligible for conversion under UAE traffic authority requirements; clean driving record with no serious violations.
• 3 to 5 years of heavy bus or heavy vehicle driving experience; UAE or GCC experience, including staff transport, is preferred.
• Good knowledge of local roads, routes, and traffic regulations in Sharjah and the UAE.
• Medically fit to drive and perform manual handling; able to pass required medical, eyesight, and applicable drug and alcohol tests.
• Basic spoken English, Arabic, Hindi, or Urdu to follow instructions, read delivery notes, and communicate with passengers.
• Able to read and complete simple forms and checklists.
