The Technology Operations team seeks an Application Support Analyst to support business-critical applications within Asset Management.
The role combines technical investigation with communication across the business and is not a full-time development role.
The analyst will help connect legacy platforms with newer technology as the application portfolio grows.
What you will do
- Investigate incidents using logs, SQL queries, stored procedures and existing application code.
- Diagnose application, database, integration and service issues; read and debug Java code.
- Manage incidents, problems, requests and changes through agreed processes.
- Communicate service impacts, progress and expected resolution times to stakeholders.
- Deliver fixes, enhancements and preventative improvements and contribute to application modernisation.
Required qualifications and experience
- Experience supporting business-critical applications in production.
- Strong SQL skills, including queries and stored procedures, and working knowledge of Java for reading and debugging code.
- Knowledge of relational databases and incident, problem and change management processes.
- Clear communication, proactive curiosity and willingness to learn unfamiliar systems.
- Relevant practical experience, a Computer Science degree or an equivalent qualification.
Useful experience
- Relational database experience including Sybase is desirable.
- Financial services, asset management, OpenShift, JBoss, ServiceNow or an ITIL-aligned environment would be useful but is not required.
