Join Legal & General's Technology Operations team supporting business-critical applications across the SCOPE and Maple environments.
The role combines technical investigation and business communication; it is not a full-time development role.
What you'll do
- Investigate incidents using logs, SQL queries, stored procedures, and existing application code.
- Diagnose application, database, integration, and service issues; read and debug Java code.
- Manage incidents, problems, requests, and changes through agreed support processes.
- Communicate service impact, progress, and expected resolution times to business stakeholders.
- Deliver fixes, enhancements, and preventative improvements, and contribute to application modernisation.
Who they're looking for
- Strong SQL skills, including queries and stored procedures, and working knowledge of Java for reading and debugging existing code.
- Production support experience for business-critical applications and knowledge of relational databases; Sybase is ideal.
- Understanding of incident, problem, and change management; clear communication skills and a proactive, curious approach.
- Relevant practical experience, a Computer Science degree, or an equivalent qualification.
Desirable experience
- Financial services, asset management, OpenShift, JBoss, ServiceNow, or experience in an ITIL-aligned environment would be useful, but none is required.
