About the role

Key responsibilities

• Translate onboarding, lending, trade finance, complaints, and KYC/AML requirements into Appian architecture, including data, processes, security, and integrations.
• Set coding standards, reusable components, naming conventions, and design review gates.
• Define deployment architecture, including self-managed or Appian Cloud, HA/DR, environments, and sizing.
• Design integrations with banking, CRM, document management, ESB/API gateway, and identity systems.
• Lead estimation, sprint planning, and technical backlog; contribute to presales and RFPs.
• Own non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, audit logging, data retention, and segregation of duties.
• Run code reviews and Appian Health Check remediation; sign off production readiness.
• Represent the platform in architecture reviews, security assessments, and audits.
• Coach the team and drive adoption of Data Fabric, Process HQ, and AI Skills.

Requirements

• 12+ years total experience, including 7+ years hands-on with Appian.
• At least 3 years in an Appian lead or architect role.
• Appian Certified Lead Developer certification is mandatory.
• Deep expertise across Appian process models, records, SAIL interfaces, expression rules, Data Fabric, and security groups.
• Enterprise BPM/low-code solution architecture experience in a bank or regulated institution.
• Integration design experience with REST/SOAP, Connected Systems, Web APIs, Kafka/MQ, and file-based integrations.
• Strong RDBMS knowledge: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB.
• Appian deployment, DevOps, and release management experience, including compare-and-deploy, CI/CD, and version control.
• Awareness of SAMA, NCA ECC, and PDPL; strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• TOGAF or cloud architecture certification, Java plug-in development, Appian RPA, Saudi banking experience, and Arabic/RTL delivery are nice to have.
• A one-month notice period or immediate availability is preferred.
