Role overview

Integration delivery

• Build Appian Connected Systems, Integration objects, and Web APIs for inbound and outbound services.
• Connect core banking, CRM, DMS, payment, credit bureau, and government services through the bank's API gateway or ESB.
• Implement secure authentication using OAuth 2.0, mTLS, API keys, SAML/OIDC SSO, and LDAP/AD group synchronization.
• Develop custom Java plug-ins where Appian's standard features are insufficient.

Resilience and operations

• Design retries, timeouts, idempotency, error queues, and asynchronous Kafka/MQ patterns.
• Securely handle SFTP and bulk-load integrations.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting; support production incidents.
• Produce interface specifications and coordinate downstream contract changes.

Required experience and certification

• 10+ years of total experience, including 5+ years of Appian integrations.
• Strong enterprise integration or Java background.
• Appian Certified Senior Developer certification is mandatory.
• Expertise in Appian Connected Systems, Integrations, and Web APIs.

Required technical skills

• Strong Java 11+, REST/SOAP, JSON/XML, and OpenAPI/WSDL skills.
• Experience with API gateways and middleware such as Apigee, Kong, IBM ACE/IIB, or MuleSoft.
• Experience with Kafka, IBM MQ, or RabbitMQ messaging.
• Knowledge of banking integration security, encryption, and secret management.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Java or API-platform certification, Spring Boot microservices, SAMA Open Banking Framework experience, and Appian RPA are nice to have.
• A one-month notice period or immediate availability is preferred.
