Analyst, System Testing

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, facilitate requirements meetings, and document needs for system enhancements and modifications.
• Develop and execute test cases, validate results, and document outcomes using established standards and templates.
• Work with Meter Data and Billing, Metering Operations, and IT to maintain reliable, efficient systems and processes.
• Investigate defects, support continuous improvement of systems and testing practices, and deliver against project objectives and metrics.

Required qualifications

• Two-year post-secondary diploma from a recognized institution; Computer Systems Technology is preferred.
• Completed or actively pursuing a Software Testing Certificate.
• Two years of IT experience in testing and project management, plus two years of leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Alberta electricity market and AUC Rules related to Load Settlement and Tariff Billing.
• Ability to interpret requirements, plan and prioritize tests, modify scripts, maintain test data, and identify root causes.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and quality-focused skills.

Preferred tools and assets

• Experience or working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL, STARS, MDR, Azure DevOps, DXP, or Command Center is preferred.
• A Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Administration is an asset.

Compensation

• Starting wage is $41.52 per hour; final wage and step are determined at selection under the collective agreement.

Hours

• 80 hours biweekly.
