Role Overview
Support category strategies, supplier relationships, product optimization, and organizational spend reduction.
Work cross-functionally to identify first-cost, standard-cost, spend, and pricing optimization opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Support product assortment and merchandising strategy development.
- Prepare supplier reports, data analyses, research, and presentations.
- Conduct opportunity assessments, benchmarking, and cost modeling.
- Prepare category improvement projections and post-implementation variance analyses.
- Administer contract data, item master sheets, addendums, and supplier documentation.
- Support supplier performance targets, scorecards, assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support marketing plans, product evaluations, alternate product identification, and new product introductions.
- Conduct supplier negotiations and address supplier performance issues.
- Partner with KPI teams to track and communicate savings achieved.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a relevant field, or equivalent experience is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in sales, marketing, purchasing, or inventory control.
- Product category management experience is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience maintaining and developing key relationships.
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Access.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and commercially aware approach.
- Ability to travel 0-25% of the time.
