Role overview

Testing, automation, and analysis

• Develop test strategies and cases, validate clinical workflows, track defects, and support functional, integration, regression, usability, and disaster recovery testing.
• Develop automation solutions with Power Automate and contribute to automated testing frameworks.
• Extract, clean, analyze, and model healthcare data using SQL, Excel, Power BI, and MEDITECH; create reports and insights for clinical and operational teams.
• Collaborate with clinicians, Health Informatics teams, technical specialists, vendors, and project teams on system enhancements.
• Translate business needs into practical technology solutions and support portfolio initiatives as required.

Health informatics duties

• Provide business and systems analysis and support services for community and primary care areas.
• Analyze business process re-engineering concepts and methods related to health informatics.
• Develop, implement, and maintain health information systems and business practices for electronic health information capture and use.
• Support development of electronic health records for Fraser Health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Three to five years of recent experience in business systems analysis, software testing, healthcare information systems, or related technology roles.
• Hands-on end-to-end testing experience, including functional, integration, regression, and usability testing.
• Experience with automation and scripting; Power Automate is preferred.
• Strong SQL, Power BI, and Excel proficiency; Python or R is preferred.
• Experience extracting, cleaning, and modeling data from electronic health record systems.

Knowledge and capabilities

• Knowledge of healthcare information systems is required; MEDITECH Expanse or a similar electronic health record platform is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while managing competing priorities.
• A valid BC driver's licence and access to a vehicle are assets; the role may involve occasional travel to Fraser Health sites.
