AI Technical Product Manager (QVAC) (100% remote)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Shape AI use cases, feature proposals, and product requirements using user needs, research, and hands-on experimentation.
• Research user workflows and identify meaningful problems AI can solve, or simpler approaches that may work better.
• Write product briefs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and user flows.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, including with AI-assisted tools.
• Assess device and model feasibility and UX trade-offs such as response quality, latency, memory, battery, and privacy.
• Support opportunity assessment, scope, dependencies, prioritization, and backlog management.
• Drive assigned features through development, product review, feedback coordination, and release readiness.
• Track developments in AI products, models, tools, and interaction patterns and recommend what to test or adopt.

Mandatory requirements

• At least 7 years of product management experience, ideally with AI software products and technical engineering teams.
• Practical experience building, shipping, or prototyping AI-powered features and explaining personal contributions and learnings.
• Working understanding of inference, harnesses, model capabilities and limitations, context, and evaluation; interest in local and on-device AI.
• Ability to translate ambiguous ideas into clear user problems, proposed solutions, and actionable requirements.
• Strong product judgment around usability, scope, and measurable user value.
• Confidence creating prototypes using design or coding tools.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including communicating technical trade-offs to technical and nontechnical colleagues.
• Proactive and collaborative; takes responsibility, asks questions early, and incorporates feedback.
• Familiarity with product analytics, user research, and iterative software development.

Preferred experience

• Local AI, on-device inference, or open-source models.
• AI assistants, conversational interfaces, or multimodal features.
• Desktop or mobile product development.
• Peer-to-peer technologies and decentralized applications.
• Evaluating AI output quality and designing for uncertainty and errors.
• Working in a distributed team.
