Role overview

Hands-on engineering role supporting QVAC application teams building desktop and mobile applications and their shared runtime, AI harness, and skills packages.

The role aims to help teams develop, review, test, and deliver reliable software with less friction.

The engineer will shape tooling improvements from implementation through adoption and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, integrate, and maintain developer tools and AI agents, including repository guidance and integrations.
  • Build CI and scheduled agents that investigate failures, propose fixes, and provide actionable evidence.
  • Improve automated pull request reviews by assessing finding accuracy and reducing noise.
  • Create code quality checks for complexity, size, dependency cycles, and performance regressions; agree practical thresholds with package owners.
  • Improve development environments, testing, and build and release workflows.
  • Prioritize improvements with engineering teams, document and support adoption, and measure effectiveness, reliability, and cost.
  • Refine workflows for CI failures, compatibility and performance regressions, and package-interface or architecture changes.

Requirements

  • Experience building and maintaining developer tools or engineering automation used by others; strong JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js skills.
  • Hands-on experience using and integrating AI coding tools or agents, including validation of their output and human review.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and systematic debugging of build, test, or integration failures.
  • Strong approach to maintainable code, useful automated checks, and behavior-preserving refactoring.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate with engineers, and communicate clearly in English in a remote, globally distributed team.
