Seeking an experienced AI Lead/Solutions Architect to drive AI and machine-learning initiatives.
The role combines AI/ML engineering, full-stack development, strategic technical leadership, and team mentoring.
The work focuses in part on AI/ML applications for financial services.
Technical leadership and delivery
- Lead R&D on financial-services AI/ML applications, including document intelligence and automated decisioning.
- Architect end-to-end AI solutions from model design through scalable deployment.
- Experiment with RAG, multi-agent systems, transformer architectures, and other emerging methods.
- Establish and maintain AI model deployment and monitoring pipelines.
- Lead complex projects from conception to production, including architecture and system design.
- Coordinate ML engineers, backend developers, data scientists, and business stakeholders.
- Develop project roadmaps, load plans, and optimization strategies; integrate prototypes into production.
- Mentor junior engineers; guide AI/ML application and business understanding; lead algorithm selection and model evaluation.
- Support development through code reviews, technical writing, and knowledge sharing.
Required experience
- Expert-level Python proficiency; experience with JavaScript, SQL, and web technologies.
- 10+ years of professional software development or relevant research experience with a strong Python background.
- 3+ years of hands-on AI/ML engineering experience in production environments.
- Experience with full-stack development, system integration, and leading technical teams and complex AI projects.
- Background mentoring and developing technical talent.
Required technical skills
- AI/ML frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, HuggingFace Transformers, and LangChain.
- Development tools: FastAPI, Django, Flask, and RESTful API design and development.
- Data technologies: PostgreSQL, data processing pipelines, and ETL processes.
- Specialized AI: NLP, computer vision, RAG, and multi-agent systems.
Preferred qualifications
- AI/ML conference or journal publications or research contributions.
- Financial services or regulated-industry experience.
- Document processing, PDF parsing, and text extraction experience.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering and large language model optimization.
Work arrangement
- Must be onsite at the client in Toronto 2–3 days per week.
