Role overview
The Agent Engineer designs, configures, and improves Voice AI agents used in conversations with clients’ customers.
The role combines client-facing prompt engineering with project ownership, from discovery through go-live.
The engineer works with Operations, Engineering, and Product and serves as a key client contact throughout delivery.
Build and integrate
- Design and refine prompts and conversation flows for agent responses and complex requests.
- Integrate agents with client CRMs, booking tools, and ticketing tools using APIs and webhooks.
- Scope and build proofs of concept for new client use cases through demo-ready delivery.
- Test agents across scenarios and edge cases before and after launch.
Own delivery
- Own client project scope, timelines, quality, and outcomes end to end.
- Lead client requirements gathering, progress updates, and expectation management.
- Manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and flag risks early.
Improve and optimize
- Review calls and transcripts against a quality rubric to identify errors, hallucinations, and recurring failures.
- Improve prompts, flows, and integrations based on findings, and share feedback for the product roadmap.
- Contribute to weekly quality reports and evolving quality standards and best practices.
- Guide interns on prompting and delivery practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Up to 2 years of relevant experience; fresh graduates with relevant internships are welcome.
- Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence leading client conversations.
- Solid understanding of LLMs and prompt engineering.
- Working knowledge of APIs, webhooks, and JSON.
- Scripting experience with Python or JavaScript is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage projects or deliverables with clear ownership.
