AFC Technician

Role Overview

Main Responsibilities

• Assist the AFC Team Leader in carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on AFC systems including automatic gates, ticket vending machines, ticket office machines, central control, and station equipment.
• Install, service, and reconfigure AFC and CCTV systems located in stations, depots, and car parks.
• Carry out repair and maintenance work using hand, machine, electrical, and electronic tools with reference to technical drawings, schematics, manuals, procedures, and work instructions.
• Identify and replace faulty AFC equipment and hand over or take back items to the electronics workshop for repair.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using a computerised maintenance management system.
• Assist the AFC Team Leader and other technical support staff to implement complex systems or new projects.
• Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are maintained in good condition before and after job activities.
• Perform shift and emergency duties when required.
• Perform duties as instructed or directed by the AFC Team Leader.

Key Skills

• Ability to use various electronic test equipment and a PC for maintenance of automatic fare collection systems.
• Ability to write simple technical reports and prepare method statements and drawings as required.
• Good communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong organisational skills, detail orientation, and ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Preferably hold a valid UAE driving license with good driving skill and experience.

Experience and Education

• Preferably 1-year work experience as a qualified electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, or electronics technician maintaining and repairing AFC systems and related components.
• Vocational trade certificate, diploma, or degree in electronics, computer science, information technology, electrical, or mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent.
