Accounting Team Leader

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and review the work of the accounting team to ensure the timely and accurate completion of client bookkeeping and reconciliations.
• Ensure all client reconciliations are completed, reviewed, and approved in accordance with company standards.
• Escalate unresolved accounting, compliance, or operational issues to senior management when necessary.
• Maintain accurate reconciliation status reporting for management review.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal departments on accounting-related matters.
• Conduct weekly team meetings and prepare progress reports for the Accounting Manager.
• Support monthly performance review meetings and team development initiatives.
• Prepare and coordinate annual DMCC audit report submissions.
• Monitor FTA portals and ensure VAT and Corporate Tax registrations, filings, amendments, and compliance requirements are completed accurately and on time.
• Manage Corporate Tax registrations and deregistrations as required.
• Allocate workloads effectively and monitor team productivity.
• Identify training needs and support the professional development of team members.
• Lead the onboarding and induction of junior accounting staff.
• Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes and service delivery standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a UAE-based Accounting Advisory or Consulting Firm.
• Proven experience leading or supervising an accounting team.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, FTA regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Professional fluency in both English and Russian.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
