Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Assistant to support the finance team in day-to-day accounting operations.
This role is ideal for someone looking to build their career within a global retail environment, gaining exposure across various finance functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes
- Process invoices, expense reports, and payments in a timely manner
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements
- Maintain and update accounting systems and documentation
- Liaise with internal departments and external vendors regarding financial queries
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience in a similar role (retail experience is a plus)
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in a retail or FMCG environment
- Exposure to high-volume transaction processing
- Working towards or interest in professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, etc.)
