The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization.
This position is responsible for managing the general ledger, preparing financial statements, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
The Senior Accountant serves as a subject matter expert and collaborates cross-functionally with operations, FP&A, and external auditors.
General Ledger & Month-End Close
▸
Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all journal entries
▸
Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation of accruals and adjustments
▸
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner
▸
Prepare and review intercompany transactions and eliminations
Financial Reporting
▸
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
▸
Assist in the preparation of management reporting packages, board presentations, and variance analysis
▸
Support external audit processes by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
▸
Ensure all financial reports comply with GAAP, IFRS, or applicable regulatory standards
Compliance & Internal Controls
▸
Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)
▸
Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and applicable laws
▸
Assist in preparation and review of tax filings including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, and payroll taxes
▸
Document and update accounting policies, procedures, and process flowcharts
Budgeting & Forecasting Support
▸
Collaborate with the FP&A team to support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
▸
Analyze actuals versus budget/forecast and provide clear explanations for variances
▸
Assist in developing financial models and performing ad hoc financial analysis
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
▸
Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff and associates
▸
Partner with operations, procurement, HR, and other departments on financial matters
▸
Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead implementation of best practices
▸
Support ERP system upgrades, implementations, and enhancements as needed
Education & Certification
▸
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
▸
CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred
Experience
▸
Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a mid-to-large organization or public accounting firm
▸
Demonstrated experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, and audit support
▸
Prior experience in a supervisory or mentorship role is a plus
Technical Skills
▸
Strong proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
▸
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
▸
Solid knowledge of GAAP; familiarity with IFRS is an advantage
▸
Experience with financial reporting tools such as Hyperion, Adaptive Insights, or Power BI

Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
▸
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
▸
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and professional judgment when handling sensitive financial information
