About This Role
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a strong background in the construction/contracting industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, project accounting, cost control, and ensuring compliance with UAE financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger.
- Handle project accounting, including cost allocation, budgeting, and tracking project expenses.
- Prepare and monitor project-wise cost reports and profitability analysis.
- Maintain accurate records of invoices, LPOs, subcontractor payments, and supplier accounts.
- Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Reconcile bank statements, supplier statements, and intercompany balances.
- Monitor and control cash flow and project expenditures.
- Assist in VAT filing and ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations.
- Coordinate with project managers and procurement teams for cost verification and approvals.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing systems for financial transactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5–10 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or contracting companies.
Strong knowledge of:
- Project accounting
- Cost control & budgeting
- UAE VAT regulations
- Experience working with ERP/accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications.
- Experience handling large-scale projects or multiple project accounts.
- Prior experience in UAE/GCC construction sector is highly preferred.
Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
