Accountant - Construction Experience

About This Role

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a strong background in the construction/contracting industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, project accounting, cost control, and ensuring compliance with UAE financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger.
• Handle project accounting, including cost allocation, budgeting, and tracking project expenses.
• Prepare and monitor project-wise cost reports and profitability analysis.
• Maintain accurate records of invoices, LPOs, subcontractor payments, and supplier accounts.
• Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Reconcile bank statements, supplier statements, and intercompany balances.
• Monitor and control cash flow and project expenditures.
• Assist in VAT filing and ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations.
• Coordinate with project managers and procurement teams for cost verification and approvals.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing systems for financial transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5–10 years of accounting experience in construction or contracting companies.

Strong knowledge of:

• Project accounting
• Cost control & budgeting
• UAE VAT regulations
• Experience working with ERP/accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications.
• Experience handling large-scale projects or multiple project accounts.
• Prior experience in UAE/GCC construction sector is highly preferred.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
